Welcome to the Website of the Nunavut Arts and Crafts Association (NACA), a non-profit incorporated society that promotes the growth and appreciation of Nunavut artists, and the production of their arts and crafts.

The eight annual Nunavut Arts Festival 2007 will be in Iqaluit June 20 - June 27, 2007 . The event this year will bring in 40 - 50 visual artists from Nunavut communities to network with each other, expand their knowledge, learn more about marketing, meet galleries and exhibit and sell their artwork.

There will be one main forum on the arts on June 21st for all organizations to present their information to the artists attending. During the week there will be workshops, demonstrations by artists, portfolios and bios created for artists attending. There will be an exhibition and sale of art from June June 22 to June 26.

During this week we hold our AGM (Annual General Meeting) when artists learn what NACA can do for them, they review the annual general report, financial statements, previous minutes and have a chance to vote for their regional representatives on the board. All members participate in an open discussion during the meeting to voice their concerns on art activities in their communities.

This will be the second year that NACA joins other organizations in hosting the Alianait! Arts Festival www.alianait.ca. Presented by a coalition of arts organization including the Nunavut Arts & Crafts Association, Alianait! is in its 3rd year as an annual event hosted in Iqaluit, Nunavut from June 21 to July 1 featuring art, music, film, storytelling, dance & theatre.
