Stone Carving Studio 7, run by sculptor Andrew Arp, is in an old brick building located in the historic Fort Ethan Allen in Winooski, Vermont. The carving studio has both indoor and outdoor facilities. The classes/workshops are designed as an introduction to marble and granite carving. Students are introduced to both hand, electric and pneumatic tools. Discussions and demonstrations enable students to learn the skills necessary to carry on and create their own body of work. Workshops allow up to 10 participants and focus on personalized instruction within this small group. The course fee is US$500 for a one-week session, and covers the cost of materials and the use of the studio facilities. All necessary tools will be provided as well as the stone.
