Jean A. Chalmers Fund for the Crafts
Canada Council for the Arts
Deadline: March 1 of each year
An annual sum of up to $50,000 is awarded to non-profit organizations as partial funding to help them undertake projects that advance the fine crafts in Canada. The money could help pay for investigating or documenting historical or contemporary fine arts developments and issues. Funds might also underwrite the cost of conferences, lecture series and artist workshops on crafts in Canada, or help pay pre-printing costs of publications on the fine crafts intended for national or international distribution. Proposals for the use of film, video, audio, CD-ROM or the Internet to address contemporary issues in the fine crafts may also be submitted.
